Networking in the New World
Many words have been written about how the rise of Covid-19 has changed practically every part of our lives.
One of the changes that I encounter most is the shift from In-Person Networking to Virtual Networking events.
When I started my business, I dutifully joined a local Chamber of Commerce thinking it the most obvious way to become part of the business community. There I learned a lot about my community, forged useful connections for my business, and drank MANY cups of coffee while exchanging business cards.
That's all so 2019!
One of my favorite new realities is that while professional networking is still alive and well, drive times are now completely obsolete. Some of my favorite professional organizations have made successful transitions to become virtual meetings. As I bonus, I am able to attend more meetings, collaborate with more groups, and forge more professionally supportive relationships. I just have to make my own coffee.
Not all of the pandemic changes are bad.
